- Prayer Beads
Malas, also known as Prayer Beads, are a traditional meditation tool used in Buddhism to count the number of times a mantra is recited (such as Om Mani Padme Hum which translated roughly means Praise to the Jewel in the Lotus) while meditating. Each Mala is handmade and strung with 108 beads. Some Malas include additional counter beads.
Wearing a Mala around your neck is a helpful way to carry a stone's energy throughout the day since it is closest to your heart chakra.
